Nick Johnson

Managing Partner at Glaisyers Solicitors LLP

Manchester, United Kingdom

About Me

Nick studied politics at Hull University where he was actively engaged in university life taking office with representing student welfare and the University football club. He then qualified as a solicitor despite being encouraged to enter the world of politics. As a trainee he joined Goldstone Casket and Eva an establishment legal practice which eventually merged in 1993 with Glaisyers.

His long and wide experience in law has helped him gain a true insight into the practical skills necessary in running a business as well as advising those clients he continues to work with in litigation. Nick has had experience in a wide range of commercial and personal disputes. During his 25 years as a litigator he has dealt with disputes ranging from property to commercial contracts and has acted for a large number of commercial and property clients resolving their disputes. He understands the importance of finding a resolution which is acceptable to the client and at a cost they can afford. In addition to dealing with commercial clients he also acts for individuals in relation to boundary disputes, professional negligence involving solicitors surveyors and accountants and as well as acting for vulnerable adults where funds have been misappropriated.

Nick has recently been involved in an option agreement for the purchase of land amounting to £5million. Nick is currently working on two cases in the Court of Appeal involving material non disclosure within proceedings pursuing a solicitor for misappropriating funds involving freezing order and tracing funds. Dealing with a complex professional negligence claim against a firm of solicitors.

As a managing partner he is keen to promote a philosophy where all who work for the firm go the extra mile and are open, honest, caring and down-to-earth. As a firm he looks to be compassionate, diligent, trustworthy and respectful to all his clients and expects that from those around him.

Nick volunteers his time away from the office to supporting education sitting on various schools and diocesan bodies as a governor and Commissioner as well as supporting other local organisations. Nick has four children and enjoys spending time with his family as well as a wide range of interest in sport and the arts trying to live life to the full.
